Nursery School and Infant Care

Christian Chapel Academy (CCA) is a renowned private Christian elementary and middle school with an exceptional Early Education Program. Our Early Education Program caters to children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, providing them with the necessary care and education to establish a strong foundation in academic excellence, personal responsibility, and spiritual growth.

Our Nursery and Preschool are staffed with experienced teachers who offer a nurturing and emotionally safe environment for your little ones. These formative years have a profound impact on a child’s development, and our preschool programs are specifically designed to align with the core values of Columbia families as they grow together.

At CCA, we will provide your child with a secure, caring and top-notch educational environment.

Creating an Optimal Environment for Infants in Our Nursery

For infants and young children, every moment of the day is an opportunity to learn and grow. At CCA, we understand the importance of providing a developmentally appropriate environment that is both engaging and enjoyable.

Our nursery maintains a 1:3 student to teacher ratio to ensure that each child receives the attention they need for optimal growth and development. We recognize that caring for children aged 6 to 8 weeks old is different from caring for a 12-month-old, which is why we have created separate areas for infants who are not yet crawling and those who can crawl and walk.

The area is equipped with engaging toys and activities, and the environment is cheerful and relaxing to encourage young children to learn and play. We also have a separate, quiet napping room to ensure that infants can sleep comfortably and peacefully.

At CCA, we are committed to maintaining a clean, safe, developmentally appropriate, and stimulating environment for all young children in our program.

Staying Connected with Your Little One While You’re Away

The Early Education Program utilizes Class Dojo to facilitate parent communication. You will receive classroom news, updates and photos from your child’s teacher. These apps also allow for direct and immediate conversation with your child’s teacher and the Director of Early Education. In addition, a regular newsletter is provided by the Director to update families on the latest classroom and program happenings.

Activities and Schedule for Nursery: What to Expect

Our aim is to create a nursery environment that feels like home for your little one. To ensure this, we will provide you with a questionnaire before your child starts. This will cover their  typical schedule, eating habits, likes, dislikes and anything else that will help us understand your baby’s needs.

We also want to make the drop-off and pick-up process as smooth as possible for you. Families are encouraged to leave bottles, pacifiers, a supply of breastmilk, formula, and/or purees, as well as diapers and changes of clothes. So, no need to worry about packing a diaper bag. We will let you know when we are running low on supplies.

Our daily routine includes music, age-appropriate equipment, developmental toys, books, enjoyable interactions and lots of snuggles. Fun art projects throughout the month make for great keepsakes and our annual Christmas and Spring concerts for amazingly sweet memories

Providing a Safe and Nurturing Environment for Young Children

Our team of teachers and caregivers are dedicated to creating an engaging and supportive classroom that encourages children to explore and discover in a safe and secure environment. Each member of our team undergoes a thorough background check and receives CPR training to ensure the safety of all children in our care.
