Toddler Program

Christian Chapel Academy (CCA) is a private, Christian child care facility, elementary and middle school. We see CCA as an influence in our community through quality education based on biblical teaching. CCA emphasizes a higher focus which inspires leadership through spiritual growth, academic excellence, personal responsibility and life-giving community. All this begins when children are young! We offer care for children 6 weeks to 4 years of age.

EE1 – (12 months-24 months)

What Should I See in this Class?

In our EE1 classrooms, you will see that we maintain a 1:4 ratio.  We know that at this age, every moment of every day is an opportunity for learning.  We strive to make learning developmentally appropriate and on their level.  We are aware that there is a wide range of development in children during this time.  In an effort to meet the developmental needs of each child, we have divided our EE1 group into two separate classes.  This allows us to tailor the curriculum to their current developmental stage with one class having the young EE1 students and the other class having the older EE1 students.  We also know that rest and sleep are vital to development at this age and we make sure that all of students in these classes nap at the same time each day to allow for uninterrupted rest.  We strive to ensure a clean, safe, developmentally appropriate, engaging, and stimulating environment for each child in our program.

How Will I Stay Informed?

In our EE1 classrooms, we use an application called, “Class Dojo” to communicate with our parents.  This program allows us to document changing times, feeding times, naps, and also send pictures and videos of your child during the day.  You can access this app from your phone, mobile device, or computer.  We will also document this information on a written sheet that will be given to you at pick up each day.  Our Head Teachers and Early Education Director write a regular newsletter to keep parents aware and informed of what is going on in the nursery/classroom.

What Can I Expect With Scheduling and Curriculum?

In our EE1 classrooms, the teachers begin to transition the students from individual schedules and routines to a structured classroom daily schedule.  It is our desire to provide the best atmosphere for spiritual, academic, and emotional growth for each child in our EE1 classes.  The teachers work to plan engaging, sensory oriented, and developmentally appropriate activities for all children.  Your child will enjoy the opportunity to listen to books and stories, listen and interact with music, and continue to learn and use sign language.

EE2 – (24 months-36 months as of July 31)

What Should I See in this Class?

In our EE2 classrooms, you will find that we maintain a lower teacher/student ratio than is required by the Missouri State guidelines.  We know that at this age, every moment of every day is an opportunity for learning.  We strive to make learning developmentally appropriate and on their level.  We are aware there is a wide range of development in children during this time.  In an effort to meet the developmental needs of each child, we have divided our EE2 group into two separate classes.  This allows us to tailor the curriculum to their current developmental stage – one class is the young EE2 students and the other class is the older EE2 students.  We also know that rest and sleep are vital to development at this age and we make sure that all of students nap/rest at the same time each day.  In our EE2 classes, we begin the partnership of potty training with parents.  We work with the parents to make sure we are sharing strategies and tips to help each child be successful at school and at home.  We strive to ensure a clean, safe, developmentally appropriate, engaging, and stimulating environment for each child in our program.
