Preschool Program

Christian Chapel Academy (CCA) is a private, Christian preschool and child care facility located in Columbia, MO. Since 1971, CCA’s preschool program has focused on multiple levels of child development.

Our preschool program gives young children a supportive and engaging environment during their early learning stages. This is a time where laying the groundwork for academic skills and social-emotional development is most important. Christian preschools provide both a strong academic and moral foundation.

CCA influences the Columbia community through high-quality early childhood education based on biblical teaching. CCA emphasizes a higher focus, which inspires leadership through spiritual growth, academic excellence, personal responsibility, and life-giving community. We offer care for children ages 6 weeks to 4 years.

EE3 – (must be 3 years old by July 31)

What Should I See in this Preschool Class?

In our EE3 classrooms, you will find that we maintain a 1:9 ratio. We know that during early childhood education, every moment of every day is an opportunity for learning experiences.

While there is a wide range of development in children during the preschool program, we strive to make learning developmentally appropriate and on their level. Rest and sleep are vital to development at this age. All students nap/rest at the same time each day.

We ensure a high-quality, clean, safe, developmentally appropriate, engaging, and stimulating environment for each child in our program. It is our goal that children are potty trained prior to entering the EE3 class.

How Will I Stay Informed?

In our EE3 classrooms, we use an app called “Class Dojo” to communicate with our preschool program parents. This program allows us to document changing times, feeding times, naps, and also send pictures and videos of your child during the day. You can access this app from your phone, mobile device, or computer.

We will also document this information on a written sheet that will be given to you at pick up each day.  Our head teachers and early education director write a regular newsletter to keep parents aware of what is going on in the nursery/classroom. Additionally, you will receive your child’s progress report twice a year. Conferences are held on an as-needed basis or by parent request.

What Can I Expect with Scheduling and Curriculum?

In our EE3 classrooms, the teachers facilitate a structured classroom daily schedule for the early learning students.

We strive to provide the best atmosphere for spiritual, academic, and emotional growth for all young children in our EE3 classes. The teachers plan engaging, sensory-oriented, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for all early learning children.

The preschool program includes the opportunity to listen to books and stories as well as interacting with music. Preschool students will receive instruction in academic areas, as well as gross motor play, outdoor play, crafts, and social development activities in a warm and supportive environment.  In addition, beginning in our EE3 classes, your child will participate in weekly music, art, and library classes.
